School Board Members
The Foundation funds intensive training and ongoing support for school boards that aim to follow principles of effective governance.

Superintendents
The Foundation supports the work of superintendents with innovative, systemwide strategies for improving student achievement.

Principals
The Foundation provides support for the professional development of strong and successful principals through training academies, mentoring and technical assistance that reshape the role of the principal in school systems.

Union Leaders
The Foundation supports progressive union leaders who attend to issues of student achievement, systems improvement and accountability.

Policy Leaders
The Foundation actively works to build the knowledge base, expertise and effectiveness of local, state and federal policy leaders in order to enhance their ability to improve educational opportunities and outcomes for all children.

Aspiring Leaders
The Foundation invests in innovative recruitment and training programs for tomorrow's education leaders. A special emphasis is placed on nontraditional leaders from the business, government and nonprofit worlds who are committed to using their talents to bring about change in urban schools.

Entrepreneurs
The Foundation works with innovators from both inside and outside the current system who offer high-leverage opportunities to improve K-12 urban education.
